Establishing an endowment fund to the Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County today provides a brighter picture for our future. An endowment fund, whether unrestricted or designated, is a gift with both immediate and long-term benefits.
Endowment donations are invested. A portion of the annual income from the investment is used to address immediate needs in our community. The remaining funds are reinvested to ensure indefinite support.
Longtime supporters Connie and David (z”l) care about children with special needs and their families. They want to provide resources for early intervention at the Mandel JCC preschools. This will give each child with special needs the best possible chance to live life to his or her potential.
Connie and David (z”l) established a special needs fund with the Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County. Each year, a portion of the income from the invested money is used to support special needs programming at the Mandel JCC. Plus, Connie and David (z”l) may qualify for charitable deductions on their taxes.
"It is an honor and privilege to be able to endow my Lion of Judah pin in Palm Beach, North Carolina and Atlanta. As I reflect on my involvement in these dynamic communities, I am grateful to my parents who instilled in me the meaning of Tzedakah, and to the many inpiduals along the way who, by example, taught me that 'we are our brother's keeper and as Jews we are responsible for each other.'
"By my example, I hope to influence my children and grandchildren so that this precious link between generations that unites us will never be broken."
—Rita Wolfson z"l
Today's Jewish women can perpetuate their own names and their commitment to Jewish continuity by establishing a Forever Lion of Judah Endowment (LOJE), a fund that permanently endows a woman's annual gift to the Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County's Annual Campaign.
By endowing a Forever Lion of Judah gift, women ensure that their support for the work of the Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County continues forever. We greatly appreciate Rita Wolfson's desire to perpetuate her annual giving through a gift in her will. By endowing her gift, Rita joins a long honor roll of women who have elected to take this step to sustain Jewish life.

A charitable remainder trust provides you or other named individuals income each year for life or a period not exceeding 20 years from assets you give to the trust you create.
You give assets to a trust that pays our organization set payments for a number of years, which you choose. The longer the length of time, the better the potential tax savings to you. When the term is up, the remaining trust assets go to you, your family or other beneficiaries you select. This is an excellent way to transfer property to family members at a minimal cost.
You fund this type of trust with cash or appreciated assets—and may qualify for a federal income tax charitable deduction when you itemize. You can also make additional gifts; each one also qualifies for a tax deduction. The trust pays you, each year, a variable amount based on a fixed percentage of the fair market value of the trust assets. When the trust terminates, the remaining principal goes to the Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County as a lump sum.
